For a while now I have been using the Magic Knot technique for joining a new ball of yarn to my work. It has been successful, but since my Prayer Shawls, hats, and scarves are all donation projects I have no way of knowing if it really holds up with wear.
Two things that I love about using this technique are
1. No stray ends to weave in.
2. The knot is undetectable in crochet.

Remember, yarn is cheaper than therapy.
